Diabetes Clinic

Our mission is to provide cutting-edge expertise, innovative approaches, and highest level of care for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of Diabetes and related metabolic diseases in our small animal patients. We also care for future patients by conducting clinical trials that help further our knowledge on diabetes management and prevention. We work with you and your primary veterinarian to create a comprehensive monitoring and treatment plan to provide the best care for your pets.

Some of the diseases and conditions that are treated in the Diabetes Clinic are:

  • Canine and Feline Diabetes Mellitus
  • Acromegaly/Hypersomatotropism
  • Obesity
  • Cushing’s Disease

Please note that while the Diabetes Clinic will be involved in the care of patients that require surgical treatments for diseases related to diabetes (such as cataract surgery, adrenalectomies and hypophysectomies), those surgeries will continue to be performed by top-notch surgeons here at UF Small Animal Hospital. If these procedures are indicated for your pet, they may be scheduled to take place at another visit.
