Our mission is to provide the highest level of expertise and care for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of problems related to the urinary tract and kidneys in our small animal patients. We work with your primary care veterinarian to create a comprehensive treatment plan to provide the best care for your pet. As the Nephrology and Urology Clinic grows, we will include clinical trials to help develop new knowledge about these conditions and our treatment options.
Some of the diseases and conditions that the Nephrology and Urology Clinic treats are:
- Chronic Kidney Disease
- Urinary Incontinence
- Urinary Tract Infections
- Urolithiasis
- Proteinuria
- Hypertension
- Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease
- Familial Renal Failure
Some advanced care options for canine and feline urinary tract disorders such as hemodialysis, interventional endourology (lithotripsy, laser ablation of ectopic ureters, sclerotherapy), or specialized surgical procedures are provided through our Internal Medicine service available at the UF Small Animal Hospital. If these procedures are recommended, additional visits may be required.
