Consultation Request Schedule and Guidelines
Consultation Availability & Timeline
Due to a high volume of scheduled surgeries, consultation requests are accepted on a limited schedule to ensure timely, high-quality care for all patients.
* Review Timeline: 8–10 weeks after submission
* Consultation Format: Zoom meeting to discuss the individual patient
* Consultation Fee: $250 (charged to the owner prior to record review and consultation)

Our next portal opening will be Tuesday, July 28th, 2026!
The portal will open at 9am EST and be open at least 24 hours depending on volume of cases.
Special Instructions for Congenital Heart Cases
For congenital heart cases involving interest in open-heart surgery, please contact us directly. These cases do not need to be submitted through the portal. All initial communication will occur directly with the referring cardiologist.
Important Requirements & Guidelines
1. Referring Veterinarian Only
All consultation requests must be submitted by the referring veterinarian. This referring veterinarian will remain the primary point of contact for pre-surgical diagnostics and medical management.
2. Echocardiogram Requirement
A current echocardiogram performed by a board-certified cardiologist is required prior to submission.
3. Recommended Pre-Submission Testing
To support a comprehensive case review, we strongly recommend completing an abdominal ultrasound and full bloodwork.
4. Eligibility Criteria
The following patients are not eligible for consultation:
* Stage B1 and early Stage B2
* Dogs that are 14-years-old and older
* Dogs with significant concurrent health concerns
